When we're open.
Three different things go on at the padstal and they each keep their own hours. Closed Christmas Day, New Year's Day and the first Monday of every July (staff weekend).

The bakery
We mix bread the day before, prove overnight and bake from 04:30. Loaves are usually on the counter by seven. They go fast in summer.

Getting here
From the three usual ways.
From Cape Town (N2 east)
Take the N2 east toward Caledon, then south on the R316 at the Caledon/Napier turn-off. Through Napier village, past the white church, down the hill, then eight kilometres on. You'll see the building before you see the sign. Allow two and a quarter hours from the city.
From Hermanus (R316 west)
From Hermanus, take the R326 to Stanford, then the R317 to Napier, then west on the R316. You'll pass us on the south side of the road, 8 km past Napier. Forty minutes, scenic the whole way.
From Cape Agulhas / Struisbaai
Up the R319 through Bredasdorp, then west on the R316. We're fifteen kilometres outside Bredasdorp on the right. About forty minutes from the lighthouse. Easy stop on the way back to Cape Town.

A few useful details.
Parking
Free off-street parking for about thirty cars on the gravel forecourt. Tour buses are welcome with a phone-call heads-up.
Accessibility
Everything front-of-house is on one level with a ramp at the entrance. The toilets are wheelchair-accessible.
Children
Children of all ages welcome. There's a play space outside the kitchen door, a small chalkboard table inside and a kids' menu.
Dogs
Well-behaved dogs welcome on the stoep and in the gardens. The kitchen is dog-free for hygiene reasons. Water bowls outside.
Payments
Visa, Mastercard, Amex, cash, SnapScan, Zapper. EFT for orders over R3 000.
Tour buses
We can host coach tours but need a week's notice to scale the kitchen up. Phone or email to arrange a group menu.
Bigger group, special occasion?
We can do a set menu, lay a long table, set aside a corner of the stoep. Just give us a heads-up.
