A few useful things.
How do we get there?
The reserve is an easy self-drive from Gauteng, roughly three hours and on tar almost the whole way. We send detailed directions and a gate code with every booking. A road transfer from Lanseria Airport can be arranged on request.
Is the reserve malaria-free?
Yes. The Waterberg is a malaria-free area year-round, which makes it a popular choice for families with young children and anyone who would rather skip the prophylactics.
What is included in the rate?
All meals, two guided game activities a day, all teas and coffees, and a guided bush walk on request. Premium drinks, the conservation levy and any spa treatments are charged separately.
Do you accommodate children?
Children of all ages are welcome in the Leadwood Family House. Children over eight are welcome in the suites. Families can book a private vehicle and guide so drive times suit younger children.
What should we pack?
Neutral, layered clothing (mornings are cold on the open vehicle in winter), closed walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen, binoculars and a camera. We provide ponchos and hot water bottles on the drives.
What is the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation up to 30 days before arrival. Within 30 days the deposit is non-refundable. Within 7 days the full booking is charged. We strongly recommend travel insurance.
