Sarah & James
An elopement on a Tuesday. Twenty-eight guests, the chapel, a long dinner in the dining room, candles all the way down the table.
Sarah and James flew in from London on the Sunday and got married on the Tuesday. Twenty-eight guests, mostly family who flew in for the week, all staying somewhere in the valley.
They chose the chapel because Sarah's grandfather had been a minister and she wanted somewhere her father would feel at home reading the vows. The string quartet played Pachelbel's Canon, which we have heard often and still cried at.
Dinner was in the homestead dining room: sixteen at the long table, twelve more at a second table in the morning room. Three speeches, four courses, candles burning down. They were the first people up for breakfast the next morning.
